What has happened to our country and to our world? I don’t have the answer—I’m not even sure I know what the real question is.
I’m not telling you Jesus is the answer. I’m not asking you to look toward God, or turn from something, or give up anything. You have to decide what’s good for you. But right now, in my heart and in my head, I know, beyond any shadow of any doubt, God is in control. God is on His throne.
I remember hearing someone say, “When you’re down and things look bad, lift your heart and voice in prayer and praise to God.” You may not feel like it. Or you may not know how. Try threading through the alphabet, unfolding the names and attributes of God.
Let’s do it now. We can ascribe to God all praise and honor and glory and power and strength (Rev 5:12-13).
He’s the Alpha and Omega. Almighty God. Author of our faith. He’s all we have, all we want, and all we’ll ever need.
He’s the Beginning and the End, the Breath of Life. Our Blessed Redeemer.
Christ. The Chosen Child born unto us. Cornerstone, Conqueror, and Creator.
He’s our Deliverer.
Everlasting, Eternal God. Elohim.
Our Father. Our Faithful Witness. Our Friend.
He. Is. God.
Our Hope, High Priest, Holy One.
Immanuel, God with us. Born in a small, simple stable, totally dependent on parents to feed him, cloth him, change him, care for him and protect him, yet He is the great I Am.
He is Jehovah Jireh, our provider. Jehovah Rapha, our healer. Jehovah Shalom, our peace. Jehovah Tsidkenu, our righteousness.
King of kings.
Light of the world. Lion of the tribe of Judah. Lord of all, Lord of glory, Lord of lords, Lord God Almighty! He is Life.
Messiah, Morning Star, and Mighty God.
Name above all names.
Only begotten Son of God, sent to the world so that all who believe in Him have eternal life.
Prince of Peace. Protector, Provider, Prophet.
He is the Quieter. He calms the storms in your life. He is gentle and humble; he gives rest to all who are anxious and weary (Matt 11:29).
Redeemer, Ruler, Righteous One. The Resurrection and the Life.
He is the Savior, Shepherd, Servant, Son of David, Son of Man, Son of the Most-High God!
He is the Truth.
The Unblemished Lamb of God. Unequal, Unchangeable, Undeniable, Undefeatable.
He is the Victor. Where O Death is your sting? Where is the power of sin? We have victory through our Lord Jesus Christ (1 Cor 15:55-57).
Wonderful Counselor, the Word made flesh, the Way.
He is the Expected Messiah we read about in the Old Testament, the Exclaimed Savior we see in the New Testament, and the Exalted Lord who will come again. “X” marks the spot where, in the end, He will stand on the earth (Job 19:25).
Yahweh. Yesterday, today, and forevermore, He is the same.
Zion’s Holy King who will come on the clouds with great power and glory (Mark 13:26).
The angel proclaimed that he would save his people from their sins.
By His wounds we are healed; our nation is healed; our world is healed.
There is no other name:
Jesus.

Great post, though you kind of had to stretch on X and Z!
Thanks Wes. Yeah, X and Z were a bit of a challenge. So was Q.
Thank you, I wanted to find the person who composed this masterpiece so I can give credit where credit is due. I would love to use this to close out my sermon. I will be sure to reference my findings.
Thanks Sharon. I wrote it. Hopefully it will be meaningful for those with whom you share it.
